Not your average everyday adobo, adobong balut is an exotic spin of the timeless classic. Not for the faint of heart, which I am not, I would even go for the 21 day old balut and add more chili flakes.

GREAT FOOD FINDS, STREET FOOD - BALUT

GREAT FOOD FINDS, STREET FOOD - BALUT

Balut is one of the more exotic food exports of the Philippines and although Balut is common in many South East Asian countries, it is to the rest of the world a food taboo. It has been a food challenge depicted in many TV programs often posed a great degree of difficulty for participants. For the squeamish foreigner the mere sight of it cracked open could cause vomiting but to the adventurous it is something they might find to be a treat.
Surely it is one of the Philippines' great food finds.
